On a late spring afternoon, the KLIS was gently wrapped in notes and hues. The Music & Art Festival, themed “The Art of Growing Up”, drew to a heartwarming close amid applause and emotion. It was a celebration of creativity without boundaries—where the glow of the stage and the lines on display echoed each other, capturing how children grow through art.
On Stage: Every Note Marks a Step of Growth
The music festival was held in two sessions. Students from G3 to G12 took the stage first, presenting a rich variety of performances ranging from ensemble playing, choral singing, and musical theater to piano solos, drum solos, dance, and talent showcases. The secondary school division also performed a full-length musical. Afterwards, the young performers from TD to G2 stepped onto the stage and won the warmest applause with their sweet, tender voices, simple recorder ensemble, and lovely dances.
Regardless of age, every child focused seriously on their moment under the lights. Some pieces required fullclass coordination; others were brave individual declarations. Parents’ eyes never left their own children. At that moment, technical perfection was no longer the only measure—the poise and dedication on stage were themselves the most moving proof of growth.
Beyond the Canvas: Speaking Through Lines, Colors, and Design
The art exhibition was equally vibrant.
“A Journey of Lines” brought together 70 students in a collective creation. Using lines to connect memories of home and dreams of distant places, their works formed a visible path of the heart. The Toddler classes built a “Color Town” with their little hands—every patch of color reflecting how they see the world.
Older students took on theater design: stage models, character sketches, prop replicas, masks, and even AIgenerated short films by some. Several students also presented individual works, including paintings, popup books, and sculptures. The exhibition had no gradelevel boundaries—only a flow of creativity.
At KLIS, we have never believed that art is just a subject. It is how our children record emotions, express their longings, and build bridges between the real and the imagined. A bow on stage, a single stroke on paper, a tiny detail on a model—these are the truest measures of growing up.
Our deepest gratitude goes to every teacher, student, and parent who performed, created, set up the exhibitions, or worked behind the scenes. Your passion gave this festival not only moments of brilliance but also a warm, enduring heart.
Next year, when melodies rise again and colors are laid out anew, we will meet in fresh works of art—and see growth that is even more confident, even more radiant.
