KLIS Elementary School offers a balanced international curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 5 students. We adopt NWEA MAP adaptive growth assessment three times each year, and implement Project Based Learning (PBL) from Grade 3 to cultivate independent thinking, reading and math core ability for primary learners.

KLIS Elementary School K-G5 – MAP Assessment & Project Based Learning Primary Curriculum

Beginning in Kindergarten, our students build on the foundations begun in PreK in Reading and Mathematics. KLIS gives Kindergarten aged through G5 students a balanced and challenging program where confidence, talent, friendship, and individuality flourish. Students become strong, independent thinkers, guided by expert teachers who encourage their natural curiosity and help them master essential skills. Using Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) adaptive assessments 3 times a year, each student has a unique academic growth profile that guides teachers in designing instruction. Project Based Learning (PBL) is part of the KLIS instructional process beginning in upper elementary (G3-G5). With PBL, teachers engage students in thinking deeply about content, while also learning essential critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. Project-based learning connects students to their learning in ways that traditional instruction often doesn't.
