The preschool at KLIS implements the Creative Curriculum accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This comprehensive framework integrates the development of social, emotional, physical,and cognitive skills throughout early childhood education.covering domains such as mathematics. English,literature,social cognition, and emotional development. The program employs hands-on activities, project-based learning, and gamified instructional approaches to foster children's self-confidence, creativity, and critical thinking competencies. As an integral pat of the school's comprehensive educational program, the kindergarten fosters children's positive self-identity and develops the emotional, social, and cognitive abilities essential for successful classroom integration Teaching activities combine imaginative play with teacher-guided instruction through social interactions, group collaboration, and differentiated instructional approaches We have 38 learning objectives, and maintain a digital portfolio for each student, with weekly updates by lead teachers and quarterly assessments. Detailed reports are shared with parents each term, followed by one-on-one meetings to ensure close collaboration between home and school. We implement Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP), which respects each child’s unique developmental path. This approach supports individualized growth and seamlessly aligns with the MAP Growth Assessment used in elementary school, ensuring a continuous and adaptive learning journey.
Pre-kindergarten is recognized as part of a comprehensive educational program for students in KLIS. We believe that growth and development are unique to each child and that children develop skills at different rates, emergent literacy、early mathematics development、small group individualized instruction、circle time guided play、home-school parent meeting, especially in the areas of emergent literacy and mathematics. Our fundamental goal is to provide a purposeful educational environment, rich in learning experiences, so that a positive foundation for the future will be nurtured. We are dedicated to providing learning experiences that will develop a positive self-image in every child along with the emotional, social, and intellectual skills necessary to be successful in the classroom. Imaginative play is coupled with teacher-directed activities during circle time, small group, and individualized instruction.
