Our Admissions Team follows each and every application from initial enquiry through to start date - this includes answering initial enquiries, organizing school tours and all liaison between parents, school and company during the application process. Application checklist and process / How to apply
KLIS is an international school, if you are unsure whether your child is eligible to apply, please contact the Admissions Office before you begin the application process.

This Application Checklist includes what materials that we need for your application and explains our admissions process. All applications are subject to qualification and seat availability.

To apply, the following are required:
● Online application form – to be completed and signed.
● Photo – One recent photo of the applicant (student)
● Student's passport – a copy of the passport information page
● Parents' passports – a copy of each parent's passport information page
● School Records
● Report cards* from recent year(s) and/or transcripts (* current school year plus full year reports from previous school years)
● Standardized achievement test scores, if available
● Proof of residence in Chongqing (residence book or housing rental contract)
● Immunization records
● Birth certificate / Proof of relationship in English
● Original employment certification letter (this must include: employee name, date of birth and position, period of employment, registered company name, address and telephone number. The certification letter needs be signed by department head and stamped with company chop on letterhead)
Review and Assessment
Admissions Test and Probationary Class – Students are required to take an English admissions test, participate in an oral interview and attend a half-day probationary class as part of the qualification process.
Admissions Notice – On completion of the admissions documents and review process, you will be notified in writing of the notice for admissions.
Learning Support – For students who require additional learning support for subject areas or ELL (English Language Learning), we will assess these needs on an individual, at-need basis to determine the availability of these services for your child.
If you are living overseas or in another province in China, please contact us as soon as you know about your possible relocation in Chongqing. We will receive the required documents of the applicants from overseas and other province in China by email attachment. The interview may be scheduled online or during your visit in Chongqing.
Once we have received the application form and all supporting documents, we will review your application. KLIS reserves the right to make admissions decisions based on the information provided in the application and the assessment results, which will indicate that the student can achieve at a level to be successful at our school.

As an international school serving the needs of a transient community, we are used to dealing with applications and arrivals at all points during the school year.
Whether you are planning to move to Chongqing in the future or have already lived here and are looking for other educational options, you are welcome to contact us. We are happy to help with even the most tentative of enquiries, so please do not hesitate to contact us. We can arrange personal tours for parents or families at any point throughout the year.
If you do visit, you will be shown around the school by a member of our Admissions Team and, in most cases, join a friendly personal meeting with a relevant head of school or a senior member of teaching staff. a relevant leadership team member or our teaching staff.  During the visit, you will have the chance to see the children in their classrooms, meet our heads of school principals, explore our beautiful campus, gain some further information on the school and ask any questions you may have.
Families are encouraged to visit the school as part of the application process, but for families living far away, we appreciate that this is not always possible. If you are overseas, please inform the KLIS Admissions Team in advance, so that we can send you enough information regarding your relocation.
